Basic lore
This is the most basic lore about the universe, useful to quickly understand in which kind of universe you are. It's not going into details, so if you want to learn more about this vast universe, you're welcome to be curious and to browse the numerous pages of this website, at your disposal!
Summary: The YVVO universe mostly and currently happens on a planet named Bothea, in a solar system with two stars. At first glance, it may appear as a fantasy universe, for Yevatem live in a tribal to medieval setting. They're in fact living on the remains of their ancestors, who were creatures with a very high level of technology. In a way, the universe could be compared to a post-apocalyptic setting; although the Yevatem currently living on Bothea have no idea of what happened before they were here.
Millions of cycles ago.
The Oyevatem are the apex predators of every galaxy they can reach in every dimension they can travel into. They are world-eaters and knowledge bearers. They bend worlds to their will, and most often let nothing but ashes on their path. The rare survivors are only used for their genes, then mercilessly thrown into the void. The Oyevatem's chief seems immortal, and no army can even scratch their power. Every world they consume makes them stronger. Nothing seems to be able to stop them, until they reach 110-60-62-120-19: a planet bearing little life and apparently normal, interesting for its rare metal resources. But something's on the planet. Something invisible, silent, and undetectable. Something highly destructive. |
The Oyevatem don't notice it at first. They come back on 0-0-0-0-0: Bothea, their home planet. After some time, they discover their fate: they're all dying. Their tools, spaceships, labs, and even their bodies are slowly nibbled, burnt. It's contagious through the air, and it spreads fast. Before they can truly realize it, Bothea and every Oyevat is contaminated, and there's nothing able to cure it.
This is it: it'is the end of the worst threat in all the known world. They're going extinct. A miracle the other alien species and planets never dared to hope. Rumors spread everywhere; a mysterious disease found on a random, toxic planet, has infected them. They'll be all dead in about a cycle, maybe two.
And the Oyevatem know it too: for once, something is stronger than them. In the blink of an eye, Oyevatem created their successors, scattered eggs all over the galaxy and dimensions, then disappeared. Billions of eggs were scattered on billions of planets, until the last Oyevat died.
In most dimensions, Bothea never hosted life again.
And in every dimensions, the Oyevatem threat went extinct.
But in the most lost and abandoned dimension, hidden eggs cracked. A new kind of creature emerged on this world: the Yevat. Puny weaklings looking like the deceased Oyevatem, but smaller. They've all been created by their now ancestors, who left nothing but an AI to take care of them until they grow up, and ruins. Yevatem, resistant to the said disease, is the new hope of the species.

Thousand of cycles later, nowadays.
The Yevatem living on Bothea evolved. They went from primal creatures living like animals in tribes to more civilized humanoids with a language and a culture. The most civilized ones have a technology and knowledge about the universe that could be compared to the Middle Ages, although every Yevat don't have the chance to access this knownledge and tribes and towns are still frequent.
They lost knownledge about their ancestors, and know nothing about them. They changed their ruins into new primal homes and the AI into a minor deity. They ignore everything about the world beyond their planet or about their past. They created their language and culture from scraps, and live on the remains of a disaster, unaware of what is was.
All over the world, in various dimensions, galaxies, and planets, the eggs that had been scattered started to hatch as well. These Yevatem, often alone, had to learn how to live on their planet no matter the life conditions.
Bothean Yevatem completely ignore that other Yevatem may be living inside their galaxy and further, and Yevatem who aren't born on Bothea completely ignore the existence of this planet.

A backstory for your character
Yevatem and Velilyevatem can be found on Bothea, or in any universe. Since eggs have been scattered all over the galaxies and dimensions, you can completely decide to include a Yevat into one of your premade world or story, or Earth, or an alternate version of Mars, etc.
As long as you don't use unique powers or traits that you don't own, everything's good (for example, no egg would have been left into the void of the space, so you can't say that your Yevat's egg hatched in space and lives here - unless you'd have the traits/powers that say that your Yevat doesn't need to breathe or eat and is resistant to extremely cold temperatures, etc.)
(Please, only add YVVO characters to your personal universes. Don't add the whole YVVO species and/or lore to your public/shared and/or monetized universes/species/ARPG, etc. to augment its content without any prior authorisation from Yoka.)
A Yevat or Velilyevat's egg is very influenceable by its environment and will adapt slightly to a lot the baby inside. For example, a Yevat born on Bothea would quickly die if they come to visit Earth without mask, for the air is composed differently on the two planets. But a Yevat born on Earth would be adapted to the Earth's air and would breathe it without problem.
Various life conditions can change a baby in the egg a lot, up to creating mutations on the baby. For example, an egg dropped in water for too long could, in rare cases, change the baby's legs for a fish tail (mutation - adoptables only.)

< YV on Bothea
They live on their home planet, among other YVVOs. Most official events and stories will happen here. The setup is tribal to middle-ages like, inside a post-apocalyptic environment. YV on other planets > Freedom to include your YV in your personal universes (if you don't own the said universe, please ask the owner or creator first!) Your YV will ignore what is their species. They may or may never meet another YV on their planet or galaxy. The setup may be anything you like, from tribal to space-travellers, etc. Even inside magical setups, your YV will not develop new magical powers (aside from the free powers available) unless you use unique traits/powers to add to your character. |
Alternate universes
The universe is vast, and composed of many dimensions. It's allowed and canonically OK to have several versions of a single character (for example, a version of your Yevat as a Bothean, and another version of them inside a world you created, and another version of them on Earth, etc.) See the redesign guide to know the differences you can create between two versions of an YVVO!
Varveleilem and Oyevatem
In the current timeline, VOs can only hatch on Bothea. But who knows? Future events may change that...
In the past, VOs could be present anywhere in the galaxy!
