Bothea's timeline
Have here the history of the planet, from its creation to nowadays.
This timeline will be divided into two important blocks: first, the Yevat's point of view on the creation of their planet, and then the Oyevat's point of view, which they pretend is more accurate. You are free to choose your favorite version of the story.
Warning: this spoils and reveals the events of Shadow of the Maze Jumper (up to the interlude) and what you learn inside, and adds details about it. Being up to date about the latest events is heavily recommanded.
TW: As much as there's a lot of fantasy and scifi content in this universe, it's still aimed towards a realistic point of view for the events and the universe coherence, and characters' psychology. This page browses a timeline and the growth of civilisations, and no civilisation grew without exploring their laws and moral codes. There are here mentions of controversial content that YVVO may have explored during their growth to make them illegal afterwards; it's in a way similar to the growth of humanity, passing through every kind of barbaric ages. You'll see for example mentions of murders, wars, religions/beliefs, propaganda, gore and sexual content, and much more. You can compare it to a real life history lesson, or to a Game of Thrones book, for example. If these are hard topics for you, it's probably best to skip this page. I do not condone any of what happens on this page, it's written here solely as a fictional story aimed at entertainment. My "opinion" on certain subject might look neutral, because it's supposed to be written by Yevatem and Oyevatem themselves, not by me. Please do not get any of these stories or words out of their context.
There will also be no censorship nor modifications on the content of this page, read why here.
This page can be coupled with the maps, and with the popular historical figures in Yevat history's page ~

Yevat's timeline
(Yevat point of view)
Era 1 - The origin of the universe
From the creation of the universe to the appearance of Yevatem
Circa [unknown] to [unknown].
Long, long ago (date unknown) - The universe (Laamir) is here but empty, like a blank canvas, ready to be painted. And to paint, it starts: it creates two kind of very important entities:
- First, the planets. They are motherly, but are all unable to create life by themselves.
- Secondly, the Otimsaalem (singular: Otimsaal, means "huge soul.") These gigantic souls are fatherly, and intangible.
Otimsaalem can move in space while planets create solar systems to stay together and feel safe. When an Otimsaal meets a planet, they can together create life; the Soul by splitting himself into thousands of tiny souls, the planet by giving flesh to host these souls.
Later (date unknown) - An unknown Otimsaal met Bothea, seduced her, and Bothea hosted life. This Soul gathered knowledge on Bothea but then decided to leave her for an unknown reason, or perhaps died (if a Soul can die, or will rather join another planet is disputed among Yevatem.) Yevatem can still find the ruins of this previous Soul and named them "ancestors," or "the Oyevatem", meaning roughly "the ones like us (Soul-wise) but bigger (physically)."
Some wise men prefer to say that Oyevatem were, rather than being another Soul and species, the previous appearance that Yevat chose to have. So every Yevatem would have evolved from them. But they're often discredited and the theory isn't wildly adopted.
Later (date unknown) - One day, the Otimsaal named "Yevat" and his brother named "Varveleil" (disputed*) were traveling together when they met Bothea, and life appeared. Bothea prepared herself by creating plants and animals to feed Yevatem (and possibly Varveleilem) and then, the Otimsaal Yevat split himself into a countless of little souls, so the Yevatem could be born.
Several versions of this story are disputed among wise men:
- Some say that the Otimsaal named Varveleil came long before Yevat, but accepted Yevat's company when this one came after. (Home and Knowledge's main point of view.)
- Some say that Varveleilem are not an Otimsaal, but animals created by Bothea when she prepared herself for Yevat. (Peaceful Wild's capital city's main point of view.)
- Some say that Varveleilem were here before everything (even before Bothea hosted life), and that they'll remain even after, when everything will be dead. (Mostly the equator's tribes' point of view.)
- Some say that Yevat and Varveleil were brothers and came at the same time to seduce Bothea, and that she accepted both. (The Arch's main point of view.)

Era 2 - The birth of Yevatem
From the tribes to the first civilisations
Circa [unknown] to 100K cycles ago.
Long ago (date unknown) - "The beginning."
Yevatem are unable to say since how long they are present on Bothea. They know that they started as tribes, and didn't note or gather the knowledge they had at first, which didn't help to recover or to remember their origins.
In the beginning, every Yevat is in fact a Velilyevat, for they all have wings without exception. This era is characterized by wild pockets of nomadic tribes, guided by multiple gods/deities, that they name "Sorkatimsaalem" (singular: Sorkatimsaal), which means "soul from the heart (of the Yevat.)"
Tribes being too scarce, they rarely meet, and there's no conflict. Sorkatimsaalem are very present: They're the Maze Jumper, Ai Matia, Al Lubia, etc. (check the deities page) and all serve a different purpose. They are described as visible with a Yevat's eye, physical enough to be touched, and with voices that resonate into the soul. They look like Yevatem, but with really weird features, such as a lack of facial features (frequent) to completely faceless, sometimes with multiple arms, and no wings but still being able to fly or to stand above the ground level. Moreover, they're described as being able to disappear and to reappear anywhere at will. They're seen as guides and mentors, and Yevatem believe that they're part of the Yevat's Soul, but have bigger pieces of His Soul that come from His heart. This era lasts for a long time, as Yevatem are only a few, and their fertility rate is too low to create a true species - they almost went extinct several times because of this reason, and their long lifespan is what saved them.
Rumors say that Yevatem tried everything to augment their fertility during this period, even things that they would consider nowadays as barbaric, such as: trying to eat, smoke, or to consume in any way almost poisonous plants that reproduce easily in the nature, alongside with bones, flesh and genitals of animals with a high reproduction rate, creating rituals of fertility which ended in "breeding groups," praising the goddess of life and fertility, and it's even said that the wildest tribes tried to seduce and to reproduce with the gods, and even with young Varveleilem. (The region of the Arch nowadays suffers from these rumors, sayings that their ancestors mated with the dragons and created abominations, but it's not possible to confirm if it ever was true or not - although some families aren't afraid to claim that they have dragon blood in their veins.)
During this era, Yevatem have no specific rule, nor any specifically framed beliefs, and every tribe do what they want. Their moral codes are very different from what they are nowadays and it's not impossible that things considered now as immoral have been practiced daily, such as cannibalism, incest, murder, and more. Wise men describe Yevatem of this era as "still behaving like animals, and not worthy of a greater consideration."
100K cycles [500K years] ago* - "The first civilisations."
*The date is more symbolic than exact; wise men couldn't pinpoint any exact date.
At some point, and with generations passing, it appears that Yevatem become more fertile. They manage to expand their numbers enough not to be considered as an endangered species anymore. Some tribes become too big to travel comfortably and decide to give up their nomadic way of life: they settle down in their favorite regions of the planet and start to build what will be the first cities in the future. Those who lived from hunting-gathering day after day their whole life start to plant fruit trees all around their villages and to dry their meat to keep it for later.
The first wingless Yevatem hatch. True curiosities for the species, they are first a rare sight and regular, winged Yevatem wonder what is the reason for this. Some start to say that they look like the wingless gods, so they must be deified, while some others say that the lack of wings is a punishment for all the sins their predecessors did while trying to be more fertile. Some wingless children are elevated to the leader rank or deified, while others are killed at birth.

Era 3 - The first steps
From the "Bloody wars" to the "Redemption Era"
Circa 10K cycles ago to 2K cycles ago.
10K cycles [50K years] ago - "The bloody wars."
Soon, more and more villages settle down everywhere, and some villages slowly turn into the first cities. The "good" parts of Bothea being rare (during this era, Yevatem are avoiding the deserts, the regions inhabited by Varveleilem, the undergrounds, and regions with too many predators, turning truly safe regions into a rare resource.) Yevatem tend to gather at the same places. They especially gather in the regions which will be renamed later into "Home and knowledge" and "the Peaceful wilds."
Soon, villages fight over territories, especially for resources on these territories (animals for the meat, abundance of fruit trees, and mainly sources of water near the surface) - but the main reason of conflict will later be disparities between their beliefs and laws. They argue over their origins, and what's allowed to do or not, and who is then more deserving to have the available resources.
At the same time, some Sorkatimsaalem (deities) start to stop answering, and to disappear. This will give to some villages a reason that their faith, based on a god that is still here, visible and present, is the right one and that the others were wrong and deserve to disappear just like their Sorkatimsaal did.
The first wars burst the lands of Bothea, and many die. During this period, killing another wasn't seen as a crime yet, and many weren't afraid to use their Rokyevat form to open the throat of their enemies.
It was also of a common use to drink the blood of the dead, as Yevatem thought that it was making them stronger to absorb the vital fluids. It was also a way not to "waste the sacred blood gifted by Bothea," a way to soothe the impact of their actions in their heart. Even dying Yevatem who felt their doom frequently asked that their friend drink their blood, "not to let it spill for nothing." It wasn't rare to see Yevatem in their Rokyevat form covered from mouth to belly with the blood of the ones they had killed, hence the name of this era.
2000 cycles [10K years] ago - "The redemption era."
Yevatem's fertility rate is higher than before, but still not that great - so their bloody wars have greatly reduced their number. They realize their mistake when they stop meeting other villages or tribes. Scared that they might have ended their own species, they understand that they can't keep acting that way. They notice that their shortened numbers threaten to make them all related in a way or another in the villages. They now have a complex dilemma: if they keep going on wars, they'll end up being one huge family mating (and thus, not renewing their bloodline. At this moment, they already understood that incest tends to create children with huge problems and already started to avoid it, but laws about it only depends on the place and are not universal.) If they want to avoid this fate, they must stop every war and accept the presence of those who don't think like them.
The remaining cities contact each other and decide by mutual agreement (after cycles of complex negotiations) that it's best for their species to stop wars. They start exchanging their children (younglings, at birth, or sometimes even in eggs,) to renew the bloodlines inside of villages and cities. This ritual of exchange will never cease and is still practiced nowadays. It not only creates alliances between villages, cities and regions, but it also works as "guarantee" that the future generations will avoid wars (as children who come from another region will keep good memories, or sometimes simply a pride for their original region, so they won't attack it.)
The bloody wars have marked the minds of the elder ones, and the transmitted knowledge describes these wars as terrible and as to never do again in the future. New generations are taught how to recognize the beginning of a conflict and to avoid or to calm it before it turns into something bloody. With generations passing, it merges into concrete laws about not killing another Yevat. (It's also the period where Yevatem start to drown their dead in lakes and seas, so Bothea Herself would "recover the precious blood of the dead, as it should have always been."
With cycles passing, less and less Sorkatimsaalem show themselves and they all start to disappear or to turn silent, to the point that the presence of some gods at the beginning start to be disputed (but not to the point of creating new wars.) More and more children also hatch wingless, and they're now half of the population. The progressive disappearance of the gods and of the wings is now seen as a punishment from Yevat and Bothea for Yevatem's sins. They pray and promise never to kill one another anymore in hope that wings come back for their species.

Era 4 - The growth
From the "Sky ablaze Era" to the growth of regions
Circa 1.7K cycles ago to 700 cycles ago.
1700 cycles [8500 years] ago - "The sky ablaze era."
Confronted with the numerous wingless Yevatem hatching, some feel really clueless, and the wings become an obsession. The notions of a Yevat's Soul Otimsaal are being clearer and adopted largely everywhere, but at the same time, the Varveleil's Otimsaal is questioned. Yevatem split again on the interpretation, and a small portion of the population isolates from the rest in the deserts to defend the Varveleilem and their Soul.
This portion of the population is renamed "the Laskavarvem", "the ones who pack with the dragons," but are also referred as "valisem", meaning "stranger" and later "betrayer" (it's the first time the term "valis" is ever written somewhere, so it's possible that the word has been created for them.)
The Laskavarvem suffer from a strong propaganda against them, in a attempt not to have people joining them: it's said that they mate with their dragons to have wings reappearing in their bloodlines, that they're so few that they also mate between brothers and sisters, that they eat the flesh of Yevatem who disagree with them, and that they kidnap babies to practice awful rituals. A sure thing is that most of it were lies to discredit the Laskavarvem and their free way of life, but it's unsure what lies were based on actual truths. Texts from this era engraved on stone narrates that more Varveleil-Yevat hybrids were born among them and thus it's true that they actually mated with their dragons, but it's impossible to say if it's part of the propaganda or not. Nowadays, the word 'valis' still bears beliefs linked to this propaganda (Some Yevatem tend to believe that once someone becomes a Valis (an exiled) they'll start eating babies, for example. Which is rarely true.)
The Laskavarvem start to gather more and more followers with time, from people who simply dream of riding a dragon, and the remaining Yevatem have to find a way to stop this madness, this heresy. They vowed to never take the life of another Yevat, but they never swore to spare the dragons... So they start to think strategically to kill the winged beasts. They notice that provoking the dragons while hidden in small caves near the surface have them getting down to fight, and then they attract Varveleilem directly into clever traps. For cycles, brave Yevatem form groups and train together to spot a Varveleil's weaknesses and to kill it, soon cloaked with capes made from the wings of the ones they have already killed to resist their fire or acid breath. Those who survive are rare, but legendary. Many names from this era are still engraved in stone as "Varvmatierem," the old word to say "Dragon killer." (It's nowadays badly seen to kill a Varveleil, so this word is only used when speaking about this era.)
If at first the Laskavarvem ignore these provocations, the destruction of a Varveleil nest is the last event of what they sustain, and which sets the sky ablaze with their anger. They're less numerous, but the dragons are fast, fly higher than any Velilyevat, can resist a rain of arrows, and breathe fire or acid. Besides, the link between a Varveleil and its rider is often stronger than a simplemaster/pet link, for it's a true bond based on trust. These notable details give the Laskavarvem the advantage for cycles. Although they never try to impose their own laws, they defend their territory (mostly the deserts/the equator) ferociously, spreading fire and acid regardless if the Yevat underneath would die or not.
They force Yevatem who want to travel from North to South (and the opposite) to use the undergrouds, which are at this era still mostly unmapped, unexplored, and feared. This era is then necessary for Yevatem to settle in the undergrounds as much as they roamed the surface so far. Wise men nowadays talk about this era as "the one for which the greatest souls have been born, as it saw dragon killers, dragon riders, warriors, diplomats, and the greatest explorers of all time."
But the sky nowadays isn't filled with dragon riders, so something happened: the wild Varveleilem, dragons who didn't join the Laskavarvem, have also a word to say. They don't see well the fact that their kin is helping Yevatem to thrive (as Yevatem look too much like their ancestors Oyevatem, and they fear that Yevatem might alter the life on Bothea just like their predecessors did.) Without joining the Yevatem who fight the Laskavarvem, they attack dragon riders and try to convince their own kin to stop this "unnatural alliance." One Varveleil especially has his name written everywhere: Abijai the dire, who looks like his bones are out of his body, giving him a natural white and thick armor, is known to have ended this conflict almost alone (but it's a legend, so he was probably helped, in truth.) It's said that he was twice as large as any other Varveleil, and that his bones now rest atop of the Big Brother's chain of mountains. (Some Yevatem climb these mountains in hope to find his skeleton and to have the honor to touch it, but in truth, so many Varveleilem chose to die there that it's not possible to know if one of the skeletons is Abijai's. No skeleton twice as big as the others has been found so far.)
Abijai and his troops successfully manage to convince their kin to stop cooperating with Yevatem and not to interfere in their stories, using strength, words, and memories they can communicate through telepathy. Losing their dragons one by one, the Laskavarvem whose strength aren't strategy nor number, have no more choice but to scatter. The last few of them, whose Varveleilem chose to resist Abijai, take refuge between the mountains of the Arch.
Having peace again, the other Yevatem thank Abijai, and the Varvmatierem (dragon killers) offer their cape made with the wings of the ones they have killed in sign of peace, so the rest of the Varveleilem can mourn. They agree on terms of peace (to which each part declines responsibility in future attacks from outlawed and wild ones) and they split apart.
Only the riders and their dragons hidden in the Arch, a harsh and hot desert surrounded everywhere by mountains, remain together in secret for cycles.
Confronted with the numerous wingless Yevatem hatching, some feel really clueless, and the wings become an obsession. The notions of a Yevat's Soul Otimsaal are being clearer and adopted largely everywhere, but at the same time, the Varveleil's Otimsaal is questioned.

Era 5 - The new Era
Nowadays (side stories)
Circa 700 cycles ago to nowadays.
700 cycles [3500 years] ago - "Era of the beating Heart of stone."
Peace didn't last long. Previously forced to explore the deep undergrounds, Yevatem have now realized that it's a liveable part of their world, and that the lack of sunlight isn't deadly. More: there's under the surface plenty of water and fishes, and a whole new fauna and flora adapted to darkness. For cycles, it's a run for expansion and discoveries, and every big city in the world wishes to be the one discovering something important. In a way, they all do: they run upon the biggest Oyevat ruins of the world, hidden deep inside the bowels of the planet. Archaeologists appear to try and study these, and otherwise these important sources of raw metal are used to push the Yevat society to the Middle-Ages level of technology they have nowadays.
Two regions are already well-installed on the surface, being Home and Knowledge and the Peaceful Wilds, and are in constant competition for knowledge. But a third one, composed only recently, is "the Heart." Among the first located underground only (with no presence at the surface,) this region is composed of those who were tired of the competition between the North and the South, seeking peace. A peace they don't obtain, since the Heart soon joins its two concurrents in the race for knowledge.
This era sees the emergence of new way to write (new alphabets and glyphs, and writing on parchment rather than on stone and trees), of bards and singers, of new musical instruments and the culture of the arts, of commercial routes and trades of goods, of philosophers and mathematicians.
The number of wingless children is now exacerbated, and winged Yevatem become the rarest in comparison. Considered as the last bearers of the Yevat Soul as he originally designed himself, Velilyevatem (winged ones) are elevated to a higher rank, and become the chosen leaders almost everywhere.
When the commercial routes cross the path of the Arch, they realize that castes of Yevatem live here isolated and in harmony with Varveleilem since cycles. After timid contacts between the exiled and the rest of the world, the Arch is included in the commercial routes to trade valuable goods and unique craftworks. Then, the Arch is naturally included into the rest of the world, as if nothing ever really happened here. Nowadays, people living in the Arch still have the reputation to be really different folk, with their own laws and unique culture, colored and sometimes rude people.
Nowadays - "The present times."
The race to knowledge never really ceased. Home and knowledge, the Heart, and the Peaceful Wilds being the biggest concurrents, they became the central places respectively in the North, the equator, and in the South. The rules established in the past still hold, such as no killing one another and avoiding Varveleilem (save for the Arch, which became a shelter for "odd people”), but also the children exchange between regions to keep peace and renew bloodlines. The commercial routes made it much easier to travel from one place to another for a small price, and many choose to travel to discover their world. A big majority of Yevatem live sedentarily, but nomadic tribes still exist everywhere on Bothea (but more in the deserts) and obey no one. Yevatem who broke the established rules and have been made Valis are also a threat, becoming desperados in the commercial routes and pirates in the seas. But otherwise, Yevatem are now pretty much civilized, respecting common sense of not hurting each other, and transmitting their knowledge about their previous wars and arguments as a species. Many things are still disputed, such are their origin (even more now, since the recent events,) which of their Sorkatimsaal really exist or really existed, if their Sorkatimsaalem and souls can die or are immortal, if the Varveleil is an Otimsaal or not, etc. But what changed is that, now, everyone is free to have their own beliefs. Melysteryevatem, the modern wise men, are in a constant quest to understand who owns the truth, just so their region would be the right one. Rivalries still occur, and tensions may appear, but they avoid war and violence as much as possible, using propaganda (instead of violence) to discredit others.
Nowadays - "The rise of Oyevatem" (Spoilers of the main story!)
Recent events have shaken the world. Yevatem have seen strange ablaze boulders falling from the sky (meteors), the resurgence of the species present here before them and which was supposed to be their ancestors, and even the intrusion of an alien species on their own planet. It's hard for them to understand that the shield protecting the planet had been greatly damaged, allowing a lot of the strange events to happen, but they understand that the times are changing.

Era A - The beginning
From the creation of Bothea to the "Era of Peace"
Circa 1.10B cycles ago to 300M cycles ago.
1.10B cycles [5.50B years] ago - Bothea is naturally formed in most dimensions.
1.0B cycles [5.0B years] ago - Water appears on Bothea.
980M cycles [4.9B years] ago - First life appears on Bothea (single cell). At this point, there is water at the surface and there are huge oceans covering the planet. Bothea looks covered with never ending storms.
930M cycles [4.65B years] ago - Multicellular organisms, the biosphere is established. The oceans start to be engulfed by earth with time, weather, and heat, but still peak at the surface. Huge natural disasters never cease to shake the planet.
900M cycles [4.50B years] ago - First algae on Bothea. (Formation of Earth in most dimensions.)
700M cycles [3.50B years] ago - First animal life (shells) on Bothea. (Life appears on Earth)
300M cycles [1.50B years] ago - Vegetal life spreads on the surface of Bothea.
290M cycles [1.45B years] ago - First arachnids & insect-like life forms on Bothea.
284M cycles [1.42B years] ago - First fishes on Bothea.
280M cycles [1.4B years] ago - First forests on Bothea.
270M cycles [1.35B years] ago - First tetrapods "fish out of water" on Bothea.
250M cycles - 70 M cycles [1,25B years - 350 M years] ago - "The era of the Beasts" (Equivalent of dinosaurs.)
70M cycles [350M years] ago - Varveleil precursors
First Varveleilem on Bothea. They're called "Proto-varveleil" and are different from what they look like nowadays. They can't fly, are smaller, and look more like reptilian wolves or hyenas than dragons. They are considered as animals in their behavior.
60M cycles [300M years] ago - Era of Chaos
Bothea's natural disasters increase in intensity, to the point of killing 80% of life on land and seas. The planet is greatly reshaped and multiple, violent earthquakes start to break the crust and to reshape the horizon into engulfing cliffs and grottos. It's estimated that during this period, there were always at least one earthquake and one active volcano somewhere, often more. The only species to survive are the ones who adapt to the changes as fast as they appear. Varveleilem are among them, and develop wings to fly.
50M cycles [250M years] ago - Era of Peace
For a moment, Bothea seems to "sleep" and cease natural disasters. The horizon greatly changed, and Bothea has no clear continent, but is in fact covered in "cliffs" (as high as mountains) and "seas" running between the cliffs. The seas aren't deep at the surface, but have the majority of their body inside of deep undergrounds. During this era, Bothea's temperature at the surface is cold enough to have iced poles.

Era B - The first Oyevatem
From the "Era of the Raustritekem" to "The second Wrath"
Circa 40M cycles ago to 18M cycles ago.
40M cycles [200M years] ago - Era of the Raustritekem
The era where Raustritekem (singular: Raustritek,) or "proto-Oyevatem," appear naturally. They evolve from small half-mammals, half-bird like creatures which resemble owls, and are what the great apes are to Humans, for comparison. They will later become the Oyevatem, but they're now too different and bear a different species name.
25M cycles [125M years] ago - Raustritekem's brain naturally evolves to adapt to Bothea's harsh conditions. They develop tools and weapons.
21.3K cycles [106.5M years] ago - The first war
Raustritekem develop farming, cities, and a fast-evolving technology (soon similar to modern-era Humans.)
While they grow intelligent, Proto-Varveleilem also grow to a tribe-like level of intelligence. If their level of intelligence has been influenced by Raustritekem or not (and if so, willingly or not) is undefined (this information has been lost with time. Raustritekem/Oyevatem couldn't store information as well as they do nowadays.) Soon, Bothea's small pieces of stable lands are not enough for two dominant and intelligent species, and are disputed.
21.2M cycles - 18M cycles [106M years - 90M years] - The second Wrath
Bothea stops the war between Raustritekem and Proto-Varveleilem by entering into a second phase of intense natural disasters. The planet is violently shaken and reshaped again, and constrains the two species to cooperate to survive. For ages, Raustritekem's technology advancements are slowed down because the species enters into a survival mode, and almost regress.

Era C - The rise of Oyevatem
From the "The New Breath" to "The expansion"
Circa 18M cycles ago to 14M cycles ago.
18M cycles [90M years] ago - The New Breath
A second era of peace, or "sleep", calms Bothea. The horizon has been completely reshaped again, but "seas" are still visible at the surface. They're now more mangroves-like and have more than 99% of their body underground, into the huge rifts and grottos created by the monumental earthquakes that previously have shaken the planet. Raustritekem enjoy this time of peace (and a friendship with Proto-Varveleilem) to develop, and go in space for the first time.
18M cycles - 16M cycles [90M years - 80M years] ago - The Rise (of Maustrivem)
Raustritekem develop beyond what Humanity currently is, for comparison. They learn how to go further into space (to leave the Manikubo system), how to change the axis of the planets and stars in a system, and even prevent Bothea from entering into a third era of wrath. They manage to artificially expand the life of their blue star. They also start to change their genetics to improve themselves (first to eradicate all diseases, then for aesthetic purposes, then to enhance their kin.) They're now called Maustrivem (singular: Maustriv,) which could be translated to "Almost-Oyevatem," or "almost the modern us."
16M cycles [80M years] ago - The Heat
Due to Maustrivem's manipulations on their stars, the temperature greatly rises on Bothea. Many species die, and they almost kill themselves too. They consider for a moment leaving the planet to install on another, more livable one, but their feelings of attachment towards their home push them to fix the problem with their technology. They manage to stabilize the temperature and modify themselves to sustain the heat. But the consequences are huge and Bothea is reshaped again. Through ages, Bothea adapts to this heat by pushing again its surface, engulfing the last drops of water underneath (but the process took ages because each earthquake was now controlled and reduced by Maustrivem.) Proto-Varveleilem almost die of this change too, but naturally evolve to adapt to the changes as they always did. They embrace the heat and learn how to breath fire. When they understand this change is the Maustrivem's fault, and how much they became a threat with the years passing, they start a second war against them.
15.5M cycles - 14M cycles [77.5M years - 70M years] ago - The Expansion
While space-travelling was still slow for Maustrivem until now, they meliorate their technology even more and find ways to travel much faster by bending the space itself. Just a few thousand cycles later, the same technology to bend space breaks and experiences a heavy malfunction in a ship, causing it to travel accidently into another dimension. It's only a matter of a few cycles before they understand what happened, and they modify their technology to be able to travel between dimensions as well. A whole new world revealing before their eyes, they begin to explore it and to expand by placing colonies on planets where they can live. They first encounter a few alien life, but which is at maximum an animal level of life. They contact Maustrivem from the other dimensions they manage to reach, and expand greatly their own species by gathering all Maustrivem in the same dimension: the one of those who discovered how to travel between dimensions first, which is renamed "Dimension 0", where everything started.
During this time, Proto-Varveleilem keep being at war against Maustrivem on Bothea to defend their planet. They're afraid that Maustrivem could decide at any time to operate a new drastic change to the planet or to the system. Maustrivem easily keep them away with their planetary ships, and consider destroying them or sending them into deserted dimensions to finally be at peace. But they remember the species' cooperation during the Second Wrath era and chose to find terms of peace with the Proto-Varveleilem.
The dragon's terms are: not to modify the planet or the system again, unless to save it, and giving them the surface of Bothea. Since Maustrivem already had spotted a hundred more liveable planets in their galaxy, and still can live in the underground, where they already settled most of their builds, they accept the terms (proving that their feelings mattered, since they could have simply eradicated the dragons - but also because so far, the dragons had been the only other intelligent species they ever encountered, in spite of their numerous trips in the galaxy and dimensions.) They do even more than just settling their base in the heart of Bothea to give the surface to the dragons: they meliorate the Proto-Varveleilem's genes (to something close to what they are nowadays) and help them to create a full society. They're now the modern Varveleilem, and have a technology adapted to their body without hands (not to the point to go in space or other dimensions though, as Maustrivem didn't want competitors in this domain, which proved wise.) This is the peak of the Varveleil society.
They do even more than just settling their base in the heart of Bothea to give the surface to the dragons: they meliorate the Proto-Varveleilem's genes (to something close to what they are nowadays) and help them to create a full society. They're now the modern Varveleilem, and have a technology adapted to their body without hands (not to the point to go in space or other dimensions though, as Maustrivem didn't want competitors in this domain, which proved wise.) This is the peak of the Varveleil society.

Era D - The fall of Oyevatem
From the "The domination" to "The Long Night"
Circa 14M cycles ago to 1M cycles ago.
14M cycles - 1M cycles [70M years - 5M years] ago - The Domination
After cycles, Maustrivem finally meet the first intelligent species in space. They understand that Bothea is hidden inside of a rather calm and isolated dimension and part of the galaxy, and that they had to go at the other side of their galaxy to find equals. In one dimension especially, a gathering of multiple intelligent species have built a huge realm connected by many solar systems. Maustrivem also understand that they're not the strongest nor the most advanced in the galaxy, but they have one advantage: they're the only species able to travel between dimensions. They refuse to reveal the emplacement of Bothea - which will prove wise - and start to trade technology advancements with other species, including the ability to change dimensions - which will prove unwise, but it's all they have to trade. Meanwhile, special forces of rogue Maustrivem kidnap, kill, and gather the genes of the most developed species in this part of the galaxy, and modify their own genome with the best genes to become the Austri (Oyevat. A species very close to what they are nowadays.) They also use and modify their newly acquired technology to perfectly clone themselves and to share a single mind between their clones, cheating on death and becoming literally immortal as long as they have backup bodies somewhere. When "the Realm" discovers what they've been doing, it's already too late. Austriem/Oyevatem first flee in lost parts of the galaxy and dimensions they know well, and create an army of themselves in secret. When Oyevatem come back to the Realm, they attack it and take control of it in a few cycles only.
Now in control, they demand for all the remaining technology and genes they couldn't get through trade or rogue missions previously and become unstoppable.
2.5M cycles [15M years] ago - The Rebellion
After ages of Oyevatem asking for more and more from every sentient species, planet and system, a cluster of rebellious alien species joins in secret to attack the Oyevat leader and to kill him in each of his bodies. This suicide mission will be renamed later by Oyevatem as the "Silvur" mission, "the disaster." They succeed, and the Oyevatem are shaken by this loss. A small period of confusion follows, where Oyevatem's decisions are hasty and unwise. A young and intrepid Oyevat pilot of weapon-ship manages to take back the control of the heart of the Realm by himself, with another suicide mission renamed later the "Masilvurv", meaning "almost a disaster." (It's probable that the word "Masilvurv" has been shortened into "Masil," which is nowadays the verbal form of the Yevat word "Silma", meaning "the first event of a catastrophic event." If the meaning slightly changed, we can see where it comes from.) The pilot succeeds against all odd thanks to his strategies, and is named new leader of the species, "the most important one of us," or in their language: "Adomah." One of his first change as a leader is to rename his species into "Adom," recalling to all that whenever you cross an Adom, you cross "the most important species in the universe." He will clone himself every time his body ages or get injured and he's still in charge of the Oyevat/Adom species nowadays.
2.2M cycles - 1M cycles [11M years - 5M years] ago - The Reign of Adomah
The first decisions of Adomah as a leader consists in not making the same mistake as his predecessor. He makes sure that no other species or rebellious band is created by seizing power everywhere with violence and fear. Adomem are now the most powerful species inside of all the known world, and it's not meant to change. They rule with a firm hand, and take whatever they deem to need. They eliminate anything even slightly suspicious in a tyrannical way and in many dimensions, and seize the dimensional travel technology they can (even if many remained hidden and they never could fully prevent the world from replicating functional ships.) They also manage to keep Bothea a secret so far, and start to take Varveleilem with them in space to unleash them on their foes. They enslave alien species, decimate others, steal resources. They become the apex predator and soon, nobody can even think of defeating them. The few alien species who survived all secretly hope to see them dead, but have little faith about it.
1M cycles [5M years] ago - The Fall
The fall of Adomem comes from their own mistakes, or rather their own negligence. They're too proud and during their expanse in the vast galaxy, they land on a planet where an invisible disease is present. The disease invades their bodies, their ships, their materials, but doesn't kill immediately. They come back to Bothea and soon contaminate everything and everyone, unaware of it. When they realize it, it's too late, and they're all already dying. They don't say a word about it, but alien species soon learn it and rejoice.
Understanding their unavoidable fate, Adomem start a last, crazy mission to save their own kind during the last remaining cycles they still get: they find species which resist the disease, take their genes, and design new bodies for themselves (the future Yevatem.) Alas, they're too short in time and must launch their project, named "the Maze Jumper project," before they can test it. With little trust in their hasty project, they put their consciousness into servers and close their eyes.
1M cycles [5M years] ago - The Long Night (or "The Yevat era")
Something fails in the Maze Jumper project, and Yevatem are left alone on Bothea with no Oyevat to take inhabit their bodies. They then grow up and develop as a whole new species, disconnected from Oyevatem/Adomem and unaware of their original purpose. Gifted with a huge reserve of "trash" genomes and included powers (they were supposed to be the new Adomem), they are often born with unique appearances and abilities. They establish a tribal society as they can on the remnants of their now "ancestors."
Varveleilem greatly suffered from the disease that Adomem brought back, and almost went extinct too. Their number greatly reduced, and the sudden loss of Adomem had them losing their technology, and eventually their society. The few survivors exiled and thought they were doomed too. But soon, a new generation of Varveleilem hatches, resistant to the disease. Their body did what it did for billions of cycles: it adapted quickly. Alas, this event was a strike too big and they never could really rebuild their society. When they notice the presence of Yevatem on the planet, they willingly choose not to communicate with them, avoiding them because of their resemblance with Adomem, afraid that they could become like them (save for a few, who now live in the Arch, and who cooperate with Yevatem. The few of them who remembered Adomem willingly kept their mouth shut about it for the same reasons.)
