Ode to Matia
Context:
Ai Matia is the goddess of Death. Yevatem pray her to have a quick death, or to spare them when they feel their death is near. This is one of the prayers. (Only has an English version, no Yevat one.)
Oh Matia, gorgeous goddess,
Please watch on us, your black dress
Shall not appear, in this night
When I would die from this bite.
Oh Matia, gorgeous goddess,
Would you have the audace
To take my life? I would strive
If only I'm still alive
Oh Matia, gorgeous goddess,
Remember I have a child
Even if he turned wild
Let's not feel your cold caress
Oh Matia, gorgeous goddess,
Tonight this bite will kill me
Unless you find me, Banshee,
And demonstrate your noblesse.
Oh Matia, gorgeous goddess,
I beg help me find solace,
Accept my humility,
Rise me to eternity.

By Bothea (the mother planet), by Yevat (the father soul), you were a child, a weak soul. Now you have witnessed the experience of life, you are ready. Close your eyes. This event, it was the silma. The beginning of all our problems. It started because of a Velilyevat, as always. I do respect our winged leaders, but the problems often come from them, if I'm honest.

Diadedaidi
Context: A catchy song that's taught to children and which is sung in happy tones. Sing that to an adult, and he'll probably be nostalgic. (Fun fact: it can also be sung on this song and it's driving me crazy)
Yevat:

English:
Seven hundred seventy-seven
Seven hundred seventy-seven tattooed conquerors
[Tattooed can also mean "marked." It's only a sub-text, but Yevatem are probably talking about valisem here.]
Acted badly, acted like children, acted like animals
Seven hundred seventy-seven tattooed conquerors
Bringing the end on their path (lit: end from their path)
[It can be understood: "bringing end to others" aka killing, or "bringing the end to themselves" aka simply going nowhere and dying. In other words, they're dangerous for others but also for themselves.]
They use strength because they have nothing else. (lit: they are strong because no other way)
[They use strength because they have no other way, because they don't know how to use words, because they're already excluded.]
Seven hundred seventy-seven
Seven hundred seventy-seven protectors who act better
[Epitxph said "virtous protectors" and that's the spirit]
They have so many differences with the conquerors (lit: they have differences with conquerors)
[They're the opposite of them. The eternal war between town guardians and aggressive valisem.]
Seven hundred seventy-seven protectors who act better
They earn fair trades and respect (lit: they have)
[Fair trades is a symbol of having your place in the society. If you live among us, we trade with you like if you were family. Respect is earned because they protect.]
In the future, they'll be our leaders.
[It's also a sub-text here; but basically Yevatem say that those who act good and protect the others will be honored at their death, and reincarnated as Velilyevatem. In other words: be good in this life, and you'll lead in the next.]

Otoy mal Goyst
Context: A bedtime story narrated to children to help them sleep. It's about the five fingers of the hands, and why do Yevatem have two thumbs on each palm.
Yevat:
Otoy mal Goyst zemju ko voitdelerteimem.
Rekem zemju vatyevatem, mal timsaalbaalej.
Amen melysteryevatem nohe rekem baa zemju deltlej ielt viskas.

Teraz, amen lyesem kam ra yanjatem myal amen bayanem Otoy mal Goyst
Du vatyevatem galulaik laskalej.
English:
Otoy and Goyst were two brave protectors.
They were twins, and bounded by the soul.
Our teachers (or wise people) say that their link was stronger than everything.
They were as different as night and day
But one's weaknesses were the other's strengths.
They fought and protected for eras.
But one day, they met three pretty mothers, and fell in love.
They argued to know who could own them.
The three mothers separated them to stop the argument.
Now, (our hands have) there are three fingers between our thumbs (Otoy and Goyst)
Making sure the twins keep working together. (Commanding the twins to work together.)

A warning
Context: This cryptic message can be seen as a public service announcement, engraved on a tree near a village in the south west of Bothea. Local Yevatem apparently have something to say about the attacks that touched Desidekori. Written in Yevat: Oyevatem zem thorpuslej Sahatar ve anier ye, prasai, du jaana hesfer Rekem kam holbalyesem, holkakiem, holniskiem, mal lunatem Rekem tukat krastaik English translation: Oyevatem are dangerous) If you see one, please, you must run They have long arms, long legs, lon claws, and four ears (There was a trap here, as "luna" is also the word for water; but here it's "lu" (four) + "nat" (ear) The water can't be plural.) They only destroy |
Bed story
Context:
This engraved wood plank has been found near a child's bed place. It seems to be a short story with a moral for children. Tips: - This text is to be read from right to left - If some of the words aren't present in the lexicon, they might be found in the pets and mounts page. Written in Yevat: Fabokem jutuher ierim iereta. Rekem jurehemae vykajthelenerm. Rekem zemju amahneyem. Rekem jutuher laskalej, mal rabiem mujuhal krastaik rekem. Yegai, fabokem jumuraste mal rekem juyevispe rehemae nerm ierim valkyaeltu'rem Rabiem juhesfer mepeus rekem, mal jurehemae rekem ye desi ye. Laska zem delte, irmeit zem ailera. English translation: Five bokem (Bothean animal akin to a cow) lived in a little forest. They ate fresh green grass. They were kind friends. They lived together, and rabiem (Bothean animal, feline/reptilian predators) couldn't attack them. One day, the five bokem argued and they started to eat grass in different places. The rabiem ran to them, and ate them one by one (one after the other.) The group is a strength, loneliness is a weakness. |
