How to make your own YVVO, steps and tips
The four species composing the YVVO are closed species (click for an excellent explanation from The Furry Handbook!) (Since an update, they're considered as semi-closed, since the first MYO is free.) It includes the Yevat, the Velilyevat, the Varveleil, and the Oyevat. When you get an YVVO design (or MYO), you don't buy only a design: you also gain an access to a community, a large lore, many free resources, free open species (pets and mounts,) new updates, events, rewards, and much more.
Step 1.
This means that the first step to make your own YVVO is to own a 'MYO' slot: 'Make Your Own' slot. It's a written authorisation to make your own. MYO owners can be seen in the masterlist, MYO tab. MYO sales are permanently open, and the first one is free if you want to join the species! Alternatively, you can get a MYO from another user if they want to trade or sell it.
There are no Oyevat MYO. The only way to get an Oyevat is to buy a custom or an adoptable from Yoka.

Step 2.
Design an YVV respecting the species anatomy, or find an artist to design it for you. You can find the species reference sheets on this site. On the top menu, check 'YVVO species,' then go to the species reference of your choice. Your can also use one of our free bases! Remember that designs can't be based on pre-existing designs or copyrighted designs, to avoid any drama and conflicts in ownership and reselling rules.

Step 3.
Read the rest of this page to find tips, then send your design for approval directly to Yoka, or on the discord server, channel #myo_approval. You can have a fast answer on discord: Yoka#0493, Deviantart, or Toyhouse. Once your design is approved, it'll be added to the masterlist and it'll serve as a proof of ownership.

These traits can eventually be changed with the use of unique traits. The design may not be copied or heavily inspired by a pre-existing or copyrighted design. There are two Yevat bases that you can use, click on them to be redirected to their download link! They are made by @Creepyan. You can check more YVVO bases in the page Species resources! |

Colors and markings guideThis is a guide that works for all YVVO designs, unless stated otherwise.
Meet Koi Child, our mascot! Koi child will explain to you what is approved for a YVVO design, and what will be declined. You can notice three important things while looking at Koi child: - His colors are contrasted, and the majority of the hues are balanced. - His skin seems white, but isn't; it's actually a very light shade of red/pink that makes him cream-colored. Same for his hair which looks black, but is in fact a dark shade of purple. - His markings are random and look natural. Koi carps in real life can have such markings. These three details will get your design approved if you submit a YVVO for approval. Now let's see what I will decline in points 2, 3, and 4. On the second picture: The majority of the colors here are hyper saturated. They may be varied, but once you look at the hues you can notice that they're all stuck to the very right side of the hue picker. The result is a design that look unnatural, like if our poor Koi child had been splashed with dyes all over. We often call it "neon-colored designs." These colors are ok to use, but not for the totality or the big majority of your design! If it looks like your design lost a game in Splatoon before coming, something might be off. This would however be allowed by spending a unique trait to add "Unnaturally colored" to the design. (Truumveltayem are an exception, and hyper saturated colors are allowed for free for them.) |
On the third picture: Koi child might look cute here, but something is off: his skin is what we call "pure white," and his hair is what we call "pure black." You get these "colors" when you go to the very corners or bottom of your hue picker. If you ever attempt to shade this design, or to add an ambience to it, you'll quickly notice that the blending modes of your software react badly to these hues, they either simply don't work or either look off.
There's another problem: pure black and pure white don't exist in nature as colors. Pure white is the light, and pure black is the absence of light (like in space.) And on Earth/on a planet, many things will change the hue of light: the atmosphere, the clouds and weather, the source of the light itself that can be colored, etc. In other words, pure black and pure white don't exist as a color (and they ruin digital artworks.)
For these reasons, the uses of pure back and pure white are prohibited for YVVO designs. Not even a unique trait can unlock them, sorry!
Last image: I get it: star-shaped freckles are very cool and cute. But you'll never naturally witness an animal or human having that! The YVVO universe comes with a bit or lore and world-building and, even if there's a lot fantasy to it, I'd like to keep a bit of consistency in it. YVVOs are naturally born from eggs (unless, sometimes, stated otherwise but it's rare) and just like any animal, their patterns and markings will not represent anything.
If we can clearly say that there's a flower here, musical notes there, and trees here, then there are unnatural markings.
It's possible to have markings looking like something, like we can sometimes see shapes in the clouds! It's also not rare that a cat's fur patterns accidentaly draw a heart shape on their back, or a dog's fur patterns accidentaly draws an arrow on their snout - and that is completely allowed for free. As long as it looks accidental, and not drawed by a human, it's ok!
Koi child in 3. almost look like he's wearing a mask and a t-shirt, but the keyword is here: "almost."
Tattoos and bodypainting are also allowed: they can look like anything you'd like! (I mean, as long as it's not offensive, y'know.) BUT! If you give your YVVO tattoos/bodypainting I will ask for a version with, and the version without them to approve the design, AND they must look like actual tattoos or bodypainting (and not like a way to snag unnatural markings for free.)
If you really want your design to have unnatural markings, this would however be allowed by spending a unique trait to add "Unnatural markings" to the design.
