Yevat and Velilyevat natural abilities
No matter if your Yevat is born on Bothea or somewhere in the galaxy, they can naturally have these abilities. All of these abilties are free and do not require unique powers (UPs).
Every Yevat and Velilyevat will have a fast regeration. A wound can heal in a single night if it's not too deep! Their horns will regrow fast as well. However, a chopped off limb will not regrow, so they must remain careful. Compared to a human, Yevatem will endure pain much more easily and will heal much faster. They're also less likely to develop infections and have a great resistance to deseases and viruses. They're sensitive to the "death mushroom" present on Bothea, an aquatic fungus growing in their sanctuary cemetary lakes. But unless they dive directly into it, they may never be sick in a lifetime. A Yevat on Earth would not fear our Human diseases. Possible powers Some Yevatem or Velilyevatem may develop a form of telepathy. This power manifestation can be different from a Yevat to another, from accidentally hearing someone's thoughts to inducing ideas inside one's flow of thoughts. |
If most of them will never experience it, it's also possible for a Yevat or a Velilyevat to have visions. It can concern the past, the present, or the future. It can be a vision of anywhere, at any time, about people they know or about complete strangers. It can even be visions from other planets, other worlds, but they would seldm understand what they saw. It can happen through a dream, or while the Yevat is awake. Sometimes, the vision is simply mistaken for a weird dream or daydreaming.
A Velilyevat (or more rarely a Yevat) who try to control and provoke visions is called a Sibiaoyevat, or a Sibiao: a soothsayer. As hard as it is to control this power, they can use various mixtures of plants and oils to reach a different state of mind.
If the previous powers are uncommon to witness, an even more rare power is the telekinesis. Some Yevatem pretend to have seen another one moving objects just with the power of their mind, but it's most of time a child lie. Yevatem and Velilyevatem having this power will often try to hide it not to attract attention. As any other power, it can be extremely hard to control and to learn how to use or provoke.
Finally, old Yevat legends and myths talk about people who could absorb or create matter. Flashes of light or sudden darkness, it's told that some rare Velilyevatem have been able to create mini black or white holes. Legends talk about mountains suddenly appearing on a landscape, or about a town which disappeared in a single night, leaving nothing but a huge hole where it was. A sure thing is that Yevatem or Velilyevatem having this power will certainly keep it secret, not to freak out others. It's certainly the rarest and the most dangerous power someone can summon between their hands, and learning how to use it can lead to a lot of damage or even hurting oneself.

Such powers in Bothean societies
On Bothea, having powers is seen as an honorific reward gifted by the FATHER, the primodial Yevat (read the page about Yevatem's beliefs to learn more about it.) In their beliefs, powers come with responsibilities, and with wings. In other words, only Velilyevatem should have powers (according to Yevatem.)
Velilyevatem with powers are even more admired and deified, while regular Yevatem with powers, if their reveal them, will be feared. It can even lead to the exclusion of the Yevat, making them a valis. They think that wingless Yevatem with powers must have stolen those from the FATHER and thus, not only they don't deserve these powers, but they're probably also dangerous. It only concerns the powers, however, and unique traits or unique appearances are considered common. But powers are linked with danger, and some fear that Yevatem with powers might hurt them. |
A Varveleil's natural abilities
Varveleilem should be considered as thinking and sentient dragons. They're huge, strong, endurant, they can fly, and they can ruin your day if you're not careful. If they most of time won't freely attack Yevatem, it's best not to taunt one. It would require a trained group of Yevatem to defeat a single one dragon.
Their skin, made with a tick layer of hide and covered with a complex scheme of intricate, tiny scales, is naturally tough and impenetrable by most weapons. Two types of Varveleil have been witnessed, and they seem to have differences in their abilities: Jungle Varveleilem are smaller, and can breathe or spit acid. The acid will attack organic materials such as flesh and plants, and helps them to pre-digest their preys. Desert Varveleilem are bigger, and can breathe fire. Useful to cook your prey before you eat it! |
Varveleilem can also naturally communicate through telepathy, even if that's information they prefer to hide to other Botheans. Some rare, lucky Yevatem, have been honored by a Varveleil who chose to communicate with them.
Some rumors also say that the wind is always on a Varveleil's side, inducing that they could control wind flows. Legends speak about battles for a territory that led to tornadoes or even hurricanes. And the rare Yevatem or Velilyevatem who succeded to befriend a Varveleil will all confirm that the wind flows will suddenly change to follow the dragon's direction, as mysterious as the process is.

Oyevat abilities
Oyevatem are considered as monsters. There is a reason why the galaxy used to fear them and why they used to rule over all the known world: they seem limitless. Their strong points are their great intelligence and their highly developped technology. They'll manipulate their own body and DNA to clone better versions of themselves, and the more time passes, the stronger they are. Every Oyevat will be different and each one of them will have a surprise up its sleeve.
Naturally, every Oyevat have these advantages: Their four ears can turn into four different directions at the same time, making their hearing excellent, to say the least. These four ears led to Yevatem's double-tipped ears nowadays. Their jaw full of teeth could snap an arm in one bite, and their strong body never gets tired. Their cheek circles, called "svasiem," are a sensory organ: they can detect precise temperature and temperature changes on miles. In other words, they can detect the presence of another living creature long before they hear or see it. Their heart has five ventricles for a flawless blood flow, and even if this heart is damaged, most of Oyevatem have a synthetic (or organic) backup heart. This backup heart is used to control their hormones flows and to cool down when they heat, or to reduce their heartbeat when stressed. In general, their bones, flesh and skin have chitinous reinforced molecular structures, making them naturally resistant and tough. It is really hard, if not almost impossible, to physically hurt an Oyevat. However, they have a weak point: their svasiem are very sensitive... |
